About Springs Coast Septic
Citrus and Hernando county homeowners face a septic landscape that got noticeably more complicated in December 2025, when enhanced nitrogen-reducing requirements took effect inside the spring Priority Focus Areas. Springs Coast Septic exists to make one part of that easier: finding an independent licensed local septic contractor for planned work, and understanding the permit and mandate landscape before anyone digs.
Who operates this site
Springs Coast Septic is operated by Compass Camper LLC, an Oregon-registered marketing company doing business as Compass Lead Group. We are not a septic contractor and do not perform septic system installation, drainfield repair or replacement, enhanced nitrogen-reducing upgrades, or septic inspection work.
We operate this website to connect homeowners in Citrus and Hernando counties, Florida with licensed, insured septic contractors. When you submit a match request, your information is forwarded to an independent licensed local contractor who can schedule your free inspection or quote. How we are paid is explained plainly on our How We Make Money page.
What we ask of the contractors we refer to
These are objective criteria, not endorsements:
- Hold a current Florida septic tank contractor registration under Chapter 489, Part III, Florida Statutes, where the work requires it, plus any business Certificate of Authorization
- Carry current general liability insurance
- Offer written workmanship warranties on completed work
- Provide transparent, itemized written estimates before performing any work
You can verify any Florida septic tank contractor's registration yourself through the Florida DEP's public lookup, described on our service pages. We encourage it.
Why the Springs Coast focus
This site covers Citrus and Hernando counties only. The two counties share the springshed geography that now drives septic decisions here: first-magnitude springs at Crystal River and Kings Bay, Homosassa and Chassahowitzka, and Weeki Wachee, each with a Basin Management Action Plan and a Priority Focus Area where the 2025 nitrogen-reducing mandate applies. A matching service that knows this footprint, its county health department offices, and its permit paths is more useful than a national form that does not.
