Why ENR costs more
A conventional system is a tank and a field. An ENR system adds a treatment stage engineered to cut total nitrogen by at least 65 percent (FS 381.0065): media beds in an in-ground biofilter, powered aeration in an NSF/ANSI 245 unit, or an engineered performance-based design. More components, more engineering, more installation labor, and, for powered systems, an operating permit with a maintenance contract for the system's life. County programs, and why no numbers appear here
Both counties run an upgrade program, and help toward an ENR system may be offered through the Citrus County Septic Upgrade Incentive Program or the Hernando County Septic Upgrade Incentive Program inside the Weeki Wachee PFA.
